AAHPM Week in Review: November 26-30

Thank you to everyone who participated in AAHPM’s Giving Tuesday event by donating, retweeting, liking and sharing social media posts. Your generosity help us surpass our goal of $10,000 – and donations continue to arrive. A special thank you to Past President Christian Sinclair whose enthusiasm and generous match per retweet inspired people to give and helped everyone’s donation go even further.

Hospice and Palliative Medicine (HPM) Match Day was November 28 and 285 HPM fellowship positions were filled on that day. HPM participates in the Medical Specialties Matching Program that includes internal medicine specialties, allergy and immunology, and geriatrics. There are HPM fellowship positions still available for interested candidates. View them on the AAHPM Job Mart.

The Case Submission Subcommittee made its final selections for the 2019 case presentations. The committee selected 20 abstracts from early career professionals, 16 abstracts which will be presented orally, and nearly 100 abstracts for poster presentations. The committee was pleased with the high-quality case abstracts that were submitted and looks forward to the presentations at the Annual Assembly in Orlando.

There are a limited number of spots still available for The National Coalition for Hospice and Palliative Care’s complimentary webinar on Mon., Dec. 17, 2:30 – 4 pm (ET) on the newly published National Consensus Project’s Clinical Practice Guidelines for Quality Palliative Care, 4th ed. Registration closes December 14.
