Week in Review: March 2-6, 2020

The Journal of Pain and Symptom Management is seeking applications for the new role of Associate Editor for Pediatrics. The ideal candidate will bring clinical experience in pediatric palliative care and a national reputation as a researcher and/or clinician. Interested members should send a letter describing their interest and related experience and an up-to-date CV to ldavis@aahpm.org by March 12.

AAHPM is accepting applications from members for funding to participate in the Annual Kathleen M. Foley Palliative Care Retreat & Research Symposium of the National Palliative Care Research Center to be held October 19-21, 2020 in Bluffton, SC. The application deadline is April 9.

A new Information Gathering Report has been published by the RAND Health Care team, as part of the Palliative Care Measures Project. AAHPM is partnering with NCHPC and RAND to create two patient-reported experience measures, which will assess the extent to which adult patients receiving outpatient clinic-based palliative care received the help they wanted for pain and felt heard and understood by their palliative care provider and team.
