Last year, Congress approved new Medicare-supported GME positions for the first time in nearly 25 years. As CMS decides on a distribution methodology, AAHPM submitted comments relaying the unique needs of HPM – a specialty approved after Medicare-supported positions were capped and facing a workforce shortage. The Academy urged CMS to prioritize specialties offering high value and/or demonstrating significant shortage when finalizing a distribution framework.
Abstracts for the 2022 Annual Assembly are now open through July 14, 2021. Submissions for this call with include concurrent sessions and scientific and quality improvement papers and posters. Each completed abstract submission for open calls will be assessed a $30 fee to help offset the rising costs of technology. Visit AnnualAssembly.org for submission information for each call.
