Who has most influenced your work and how have they shaped your contributions?
It is challenging to highlight any one leader in palliative care. The field is filled with so many visionaries who are generous with their time and mentorship. I am so grateful to all the leadership at my institution and beyond for their example.
What is the significance to you of being recognized as a “Emerging Leader” in Hospice and Palliative Medicine?
It is an honor to be recognized among so many uniquely talented and passionate colleagues in this field. It is a humbling reminder of how far the field has come and how much better we can do for our patients.
What is your aspiration for the evolution of hospice and Palliative Medicine?
That the field continues to grow its evidence base and workforce to provide compassionate care to all individuals with serious illness.
