AAHPM joined 40+ physician organizations to offer recommendations for CMS implementation of the Merit-based Incentive Payment System Value Pathway (MVP). In a joint letter, signatories urged CMS to work with national medical specialty societies to design an MVP framework that has clinical relevance to physicians and patients and holds physicians harmless from steep penalties as they voluntarily transition to MVPs.
CMO Joe Rotella and Value-based Payment Advisory Group chair Phil Rodgers represented AAHPM as the National Coalition for Hospice and Palliative Care met with CMS to learn more and share concerns following the announcement that the Primary Care First Model’s Seriously Ill Population (SIP) component will not begin on April 1, as previously announced.
