AAHPM sent letters urging Senate leaders to advance the Equality Act and joined 140 healthcare stakeholders in sending a similar letter to all senators, calling for passage of this critical legislation. The bill, which the House of Representatives passed in February, would provide statutory nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQ Americans in the workplace and community, helping to improve their health and well-being.

AAHPM joined specialty society partners in sending a letter to the new head of CMMI, offering joint recommendations for improving the process for designing and implementing alternative payment models. The signatories expressed concern about the continuing lack of APMs in which their members can participate under MACRA and the lack of action by CMMI on APM proposals recommended by the PTAC.
