Week in Review: April 20-24

The National Coalition for Hospice and Palliative Care will host a free webinar, COVID-19 Discussion on Effective Virtual Visits, on April 27, 4-5:30 pm ET. Faculty includes an interdisciplinary panel of experts, co-facilitated by AAHPM CMO Joe Rotella and Lori Bishop from NHPCO. CE/CME credit will be available for nurses and physicians. Submit your questions when you register.

With approval from the AAHPM Research Committee, the Palliative Care Quality Collaborative (PCQC) distributed a COVID-19 Case Report to AAHPM members. The Case Report aims to collate experiences of palliative care clinicians in caring for COVID-19 positive, PUI (Persons Under Investigation), and recovered pediatric and adult patients. HPM fellowship programs provided feedback to the Academic Alliance for Internal Medicine regarding a delayed start for the 2020 National Resident Matching Program Medical Specialties Matching Program, including the HPM Match. AAHPM heard from 34% of the HPM training programs with 74% indicating a preference for either a minimal or intermediate delay to the start of the Match cycle.
